fluXpad is the first sample sequencer that fully functions by simply drawing the sounds. In fluXpad it’s super simple to record your own sounds, to create different pattern and to jam with them. fluXpad is a sample based groovebox/workstation with a highly original sequencer, where you “draw“ your music, which leads to completely different results, when compared to a traditional sequencer. The y-axis of your canvas controls pitch, while the x-axis controls the sustain of your notes. Sounds familiar, but drawing on a canvas without any grid is a totally new experience. Of course it is possible to quantize your notes, or you can limit your note range to major or minor scales.
fluXpad has been developed by Mouse on Mars and Jan Trützschler

SampleTank 2 comes with 140 instruments and over 1,000 patterns — plenty of fresh sounds to get your creative juices going. But what makes SampleTank 2 the best choice for mobile musicians is the range of over 700 professional sounds you can expand it with:
– “Classic Keys” offers 73 keyboard instruments (piano, electric piano, and organ)
– “Synths” delivers 279 instruments (including synth leads, pads, hits, and FX)
– “Bass” offers 25 electric and 43 synth basses
– “Ethnic & Voices” presents 21 ethnic instruments and 10 vocal instruments
– “Drums and Loops” includes 61 instruments in 5 categories (drums, groove construction kits, acoustic drum loops, Latin percussion loops, and percussion)
– “All Pro-Sounds” bundle includes all of the above selection of 544 Instruments in 15 instrument categories
What’s more, three additional new signature sound packs are also available as in-app purchase:
– “Alan Parsons Grand Piano”, 13 piano sounds produced by legendary Pink Floyd engineer
– “Future Synths”, 150 synth sounds and patterns for a lifetime’s worth of sound design
– “Elektronika – Deep House” an essential mix of 4 loop construction kits and 32 jackin’ beats, big-room bass, shiny synths, classic pianos, huge FX instruments and more
All new sounds are in addition to the previously available sounds — the original factory sound set, the Orchestral Miroslav Philharmonik collection plus the Sonik Synth and SampleMoog synth collections. This brings the total universe of SampleTank 2 for iOS sounds to over 1,900 instruments and over 1,200 MIDI patterns — the largest collection of sounds available for any virtual instrument on the iOS platform.

SwarPlug is a virtual Indian instrument for the iOS platform as an Audio Unit Extension (AUv3). Now you can get traditional Indian drums and instruments for your iPad. This is a new plugin format that can load within AUv3 compatible DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) like Garageband, Cubasis or AUM. Just add a new MIDI track, select SwarPlug as the virtual instrument, and you are ready to go adding that extra Indian spice to your compositions.
Initially only Tabla is included but you can add any of the 79 voices through In App Purchasing. Each voice comes with its MIDI loops that you can audition directly in the plugin, and then import within your DAW through an Open In dialog.
PPG Phonem lets the user create expressive vocal synthesis beyond anything ever heard before. With its advanced routing system every aspect of the voice can be controlled and modulated in any conceivable way. Anything from a quiet whisper to a scream. Use the intuitive text to speech tool to make Phonem say whatever you want.
Although the PPG Phonem was originally designed to do just vocal synthesis, it turned out that the system was also capable of producing a wide range of universal synthsizer sounds. So we extended the parameter ranges and made everything accessible to the user, to take advantage of this fact.
The human voice is a very complex system, which can produce a wide range of sounds. It is however restricted by natural physical dimensions. Phonem does not impose limits, letting you create all the filter configurations and sweeps you could only ever have dreamed of.

iPad Loops is an iOS music production blog dedicated to exposing the best iPad apps musicians, producers, and Djs. This is not a database of every app. It is, however, one of useful recommendations from someone with many years in music production. I try to update it on a daily basis (ok sometimes every two days) and I do my best to post useful apps only. My name is Jason Donnelly (Dj Puzzle).
Some of the apps that contain my sounds are Synth One, EG Segments, Hammerhead, Retronyms AudioCopy, Audio Evolution Mobile, and iMPC Pro. My work is published by Roland, Antares, Magix, Soundtrack Loops, Sample Logic, Acoustica, Native Instruments, The Grammt Museum and many more.
