Unconventional approach: Due to how the algorithm is designed, there are a few unconventional controls parameters are added/used to tame Richter. First of all: one single parameter controls how much compression will get applied. The other (important) parameter controls how the internal envelope follower will react to transients vs continuous/lasting sounds. These two parameters make Richter a highly intuitive compressor where the user quickly will be able to dial in the wanted sound. FAC Medusa Compressor For iOS

Compressors are probably the most used audio processors and you surely know what it’s all about and how it can help to control the dynamic range of your audio signal. So let’s get straight to what makes FAC Medusa a new versatile and characterful compressor!

FAC Medusa combines different dynamic processors into a single and easy to use unit, the input signal flows along the following stages:

1) “Pre-amp with tone control and saturation circuit” The input signal is split into three bands of frequencies (Low, Mid and High) according two adjustable crossover points. Setting the level and the saturation amount of each frequency band will definitely make the effect more natural or characterful.

2) “Compression” In addition to the usual controls you may expect, FAC Medusa also provides two types of compression. Downward compression, which is obviously the most common, decreases the level of audio signal above the threshold. And also Upward compression which is less known, despite powerful, and increases the level of audio signal below the threshold. The compression can operate either on the SUM of the frequency bands (L+M+H) or on each frequency band coming from stage 1.

3) “Parallel compression and Brickwall limiter” The master Brickwall limiter is optional and will ensure that the output of stage 2, possibly blended with the original audio signal, remain under control. The limiter comes with threshold and release time controls.

Soviet Compressor for iOS

Red Rock Sound CL1 is stereo and mono audio signal dynamic range compressor. CL1 compressor has distinctive sound allowing its usage not only for technical purpose of dynamic range compression but also for artistic sound coloration, which happens due to usage of saturation with even harmonics, dithering that gives effect of «air» and oversampling with non-linear phase response that gives effect of «depth».

CL1 compressor besides main dynamic range compression module also contains limiting module («limiter»), which allows controlling peaks passing through the compressor, mid-range equalizer module doing ISO-226 curves equalization and input signal or gain reduction VU-meter with lamp indicator for limiter operation control. CL1 compressor has adjustable high-pass filter for side-chain signal, also supports «parallel» compression and M/S operational mode.

In «Fast» mode when control signal reaches Threshold the compressor immediately and very fast starts to lower the signal level slowing down by exponential law;
In «Slow» mode the compressor in the same situation starts gain reduction very slowly thus most attack of the signal passes through.
MID SCOOP

The built-in mid-frequencies equalizer is based on mid-frequency range equal loudness curves design and can be used as another tool to position instruments, with ability to highlight backside elements or to add a bit density to frontal elements and move them back at the same time.
