Shredder Guitar Synth For iPad

Shredder Guitar Synth For iPad is here. As a guitarist I am extremely happy to have this app. In the past I would have to pay hundreds of dollars to get something this pro from companies like Roland for example. The tracking in this app is amazing.

Say hello to SHREDDER: the first professional iOS synthesizer designed for guitar! Raspy synth swells? Gotcha covered. Bass-doubled riffs? Yup. Strings ‘n Things for beefing up the mix? Ditto. No special synth pickup needed.

SHREDDER is a synthesizer controlled by your guitar. Pop it on, plug in your guitar, hit the “Guitar Synth” button and start jamming. SHREDDER comes with a true analog synth engine including dual oscillators, 3 types of filter, a dedicated FM envelope as well as other goodies like dual LFOs, a virtual pedalboard and more. Chose among 100+ built-in presets, or create and save endless ones of your own.

SHREDDER comes with a dedicated guitar mix fader to mix in your guitar, and has attack and decay sensitivity faders to allow you to customize guitar tracking to your playing and input interface, whether its a USB in, a guitar adapter or the plain built-in mic. Headphones are required with use of the built in-mic, and we always recommend following the manufacturer’s instructions for your audio interface to prevent feedback or a noisy signal.

But SHREDDER doesn’t just toot its own horn: It’s also a MIDI interface. Browse and select virtual MIDI compatible apps or MIDI Compatible devices inside the app, and select which one’s you’d like to control. Hit “MIDI OUT” when ready, and start driving any of your favorite apps/synths/drum machines/etc via SHREDDER. And, yes…you can drive all of the 16 MIDI channels at the same time.

Roland R-Mix For iPad

Innovative “Visual” Audio Manipulation Software. Kinda limited though. Not really worth the $9.99 in my opinion. I hope they plan to update this app. The video seems to show it isolating Vocals and acapellas which I can see being useful for those who make mashups but you’ll have to record them into your DAW since this app does not allow you to save the effected audio.

– View the instruments or components of the music which imported from your iPod library (*) as color-coded clouds of energy and harmonic matter onscreen.

– You can lower the level, keep or move the panning position of the selected instrument on the screen. You can use R-Mix to easily create “minus-one” type play-along tracks. You can also isolate guitar sound, for example, and solo that phrases for study.

– “Motion Function” allows you to create unique filtering effects to tracks using the iPad’s tilt sensor.

*DRM applied tunes cannot be imported.

Note:
– Can’t save the resulting sound as data.
– May not work adequately on some songs, depending on the source material.

R-Mix is available for $9.99

The built-in page editor lets you create your own pages. It contains some useful stuffs like pasteboard, undo manager, multi selection or z-order managment. The built-in keyboard, the pads controller and all drum pads in your custom pages can use Accelerometer Velocity for notes On messages. All pads (including drum pads) can fire multiple notes to create “one hit” configurations (each note can use or not the accelerometer velocity). You also can create any pads banks you need for the pads controller. All pages and pads banks can be shared via iTunes with a desktop computer.

TB MIDI Stuff use CoreMidi : you can use any supported device, like the native WiFi driver or the camera connection kit with an external sound card. Each page can use a different CoreMidi driver. Also works with Virtual MIDI Ports applications capable.

The application library contains :

– Rotary sliders

Each control can drive simultaneously multiple MIDI messages like Control Change messages (single 7bits and coarse/fine 14bits), RNP/NRPN messages (7 and 14bits), Pitch Bend messages, Program Changes messages, Note On/Off messages.

You can open up to 32 pages simultaneously. You can change pages with three fingers swipe gesture, manage the pages order, open multiple instances of the same page and change the MIDI Out driver or the MIDI Out channel (or both) without entering the editor for each instance.

Swipe shortcuts (1, 2 and 3 fingers) let you access quickly to the MIDI keyboard, the pads controller or the 16 channels mixer.

TB MIDI Stuff contains some demo pages and 7 pads banks. For the pads banks :

– Default Bank
– Drum Kit (GM)
– Fifth
– Major Chords
– Minor Chords
– Simple Chord Generator
– Velocity

This is not a database of every app. It is, however, one of useful recommendations from someone with many years in music production. I try to update it on a daily basis (ok sometimes every two days) and I do my best to post useful apps only. My name is Jason Donnelly (Dj Puzzle). Some of the apps that contain my sounds are Synth One, EG Segments, Hammerhead, Retronyms AudioCopy, Audio Evolution Mobile, and iMPC Pro.
