Watch world famous beatboxer and song writer Dub FX perform a demo on Loopy HD. Looking forward to the new Loopy Masterpiece but in the meantime I’m enjoying Loopy HD with Ableton Link.
What’s New in Version 1.5.1
By popular demand, this update introduces a new “Play from start” mode, where loops start playing from the beginning no matter when you start them. Turn it on in Track Management settings. Try it with a 1 bar quantization setting and mix it up to your heart’s desire.
This update also fixes a couple of minor issues with record-on-unpause and tempo changes.
Loopy HD is 25% off for a limited time! — As seen on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon — Create music with Loopy HD by layering looped recordings of singing, beatboxing, or playing an instrument with a savvy, sophisticated, tactile new looper that totally reinvents the formula.
Now compatible with Ableton Link, a new technology that synchronizes beat, phase and tempo. It works between Ableton Live and Link-enabled iOS apps over a wireless network, or iOS apps on the same device. Just turn it on in Settings to get started.
Compatible with the Audiobus app: Now you can receive live audio directly from other Audiobus-compatible apps.
While other music creation apps tend to be either powerful but difficult to learn, or easy to use but limited in features, Loopy doesn’t compromise. Loopy offers a sleek, expressive, instantly understandable interface that beginners can start using effectively straight away. It’s fun, right from the start.
More advanced users, however, will not be disappointed by Loopy’s rich feature set, with extra features many other loopers just don’t have. Plus, a sophisticated interactive tutorial system lets users discover Loopy’s more advanced features at their own pace.

A Tasty Pixel announced AudioBus Version 1.0.2 today. This update focuses on improving performance with CPU hungry apps, especially on iPad 2 and iPad mini.
Here’s what’s new:
New preferences pane allowing users to choose between a 512 and 256 frame hardware buffer size. Please choose 512 if you’re experiencing stuttering audio. Choose 256 if you want the fastest response time for live play. Only iPad 3, 4 and iPhone 5 default to 256 now, all other devices to 512. Find out more in this blog post about hardware buffer size.
Apps are now sorted alphabetically in the input/output/effects pop-over windows.
New status bar in the Audiobus main screen, showing current hardware buffer size and battery status. We don’t want you to run out of juice in the middle of a jam!
Some minor bugfixes.
Audiobus by A Tasty Pixel Audiobus allows you to use live, app-to-app, audio streaming. This means you can link the audio stream from each app. The following videos demonstrate some things you can do with Audiobus. It’s kinda like Rewire for iOS.
NOTE: AUDIOBUS REQUIRES IPAD 2, IPHONE 4S, OR NEWER. DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER DEVICE.
iPad Loops is an iOS music production blog dedicated to exposing the best iPad apps musicians, producers, and Djs. This is not a database of every app. It is, however, one of useful recommendations from someone with many years in music production. I try to update it on a daily basis (ok sometimes every two days) and I do my best to post useful apps only. My name is Jason Donnelly (Dj Puzzle).
You might know me from my royalty free loop packs and sound design. Some of the apps that contain my sounds are Synth One, EG Segments, Hammerhead, Retronyms AudioCopy, Audio Evolution Mobile, LP-5, iPRO.DJSAMPLER, Looptastic. My work is published by Roland, Antares, Magix, Soundtrack Loops, Sample Logic, Acoustica, Loopmasters and many more. Subscribe to our RSS feed below to get updated when new apps are posted.
