Free Filter For iPhone

Djs looking for a free audio filter app to run their rig through need not look further. Hook your microphone up to pass through various types of digital audio filters before going to speaker or headphones. Design digital audio filters by touch. Select from a variety of filters and set cut-off frequency and rolloff or stopband level. You can use this effect as a live performance tool on your iPhone iPod Touch or iPad. For processing the microphone, you’ll need a direct connection via audio interface or Y-Adapter to avoid feedback noise.

Current free version allows design of Butterworth, Chebyshev, Remez, and Maxflat subband filter types for low-pass filtering in addition to a simple notch filters such as 50 Hertz Notch.
In App purchase allows upgrade to use more filter types as well as enabling band-pass and high-pass filters. In addition background processing of audio is enabled.

Distort Delay Audio Effects For iPhone

Distort Delay Audio Effects For iPhone

Distort+Delay is a real-time audio processing application that adds high-quality distortion and delay effects to any incoming audio signal. Both acoustic and electric instruments produce excellent results. Performances can be recorded for later playback or sharing with friends. Good for Instruments and Djs!

Effect descriptions:

This app produces a wide range of effects, ranging from minor enhancement to wild modulations. The tube-style distortion effect allows for a variety of tones, from subtle warmth to heavy crunch.

An “8-bit” lo-fi crusher is also included. When active, the 8-bit lo-fi replaces the tube distortion and allows the control of both gain and phase. The result of this bit-crushing is similar to everyone’s favorite 80s-style video game console.

The delay effect works much the same as any guitar pedal: short delay-time produces a reverb-like sound; medium settings produce a slap-back echo; and larger delays create “spacey” sound textures. The included “hold” button allows for creative audio experimentation. Delay adjustments are smooth and can be heard as the familiar pitching effect usually associated with analog tape echoes.

Compression is included to help normalize microphone input. It can be toggled off for direct-input cable connections.

This application supports iPhone microphones, Apple-headphones microphones, dock-connector microphones, or guitar-to-iPhone cables.

Effects details:
– Distortion effects: classic tube and 8-bit lo-fi with tone and gain controls.
– Delay effects: 743ms maximum delay with variable feedback, and hold effect.
– Compressor: automatically normalizes microphone volumes.

Additional features:
– Capture your performances for future listening.
– E-mail your creations to your friends.
– Lossless AAC encoding is supported on iPhone 3GS+, iPod Touch 3rd Gen+, and iPad devices. Older devices will send WAV files.

Moog Filtatron iPad Filter Effects Processor
Author View comments Tags Tags: , , , , , , , ,

FILTATRON is much more than your average sound app. It’s a phenomenal real-time audio effects suite and powerful studio tool.

It’s not a toy, but go ahead and play with it.

The Moog Filtatron is a realtime audio filter and effects engine. Use sound from any of three sources:
– Line/microphone input,
– Sampler, or
– Built-in oscillator

NEW: Import any song on your iDevice into the Sampler.

Run the sound through a virtual version of the famous Moog filter with a little (or a lot) of filter modulation, delay, and overdrive to create your own musical statement.

Multi-touch X-Y pads provide highly tweakable performance control for live use.

NEW: Switch Pad to “Pitch Lock” mode to play chromatic scales.

KEY FEATURES:

OSCILLATOR – A high-resolution, alias-free DSP oscillator with sawtooth and square waveforms, adjustable frequency from 0.3 Hz to 2kHz.

FX MODULES – Amp provides warm, smooth overdrive with feedback control. Delay can be modulated by its own LFO (with rate and depth controls) and delay time is smoothly interpolated for analog-style delay time tweaks.

LFO – Five waveforms: sine, ramp, sawtooth, square, sample & hold, with crossfade and morph between adjacent LFO shapes.

ENVELOPE FOLLOWER – Uses the volume envelope of sound inputs to sweep the filter, with controls for amount and speed.

PRESETS – Filtatron comes loaded with edgy presets to kick-start your sound.

RECORD AND PLAYBACK – All audio processed in stereo, 16bit, 44.1kHz resolution. Filtatron will record samples up to 10MB.

FILE SHARING – Easily move audio files back and forth between the Filtatron and your computer. Built-in email function allows sharing presets with your Filtatron bandmates.

Life’s a rough mix, filter it!

Korg Kaoss Pad For iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch

Korg Kaoss Pad For iPad iPhone and iPod Touch

I had a dream and in that dream there was a Kaoss Pad for iOS devices. Let’s call it iKP. For those who are not familiar with the Kp3 Kaoss Pad it is an effects processor with a X/Y interface and is designed for live use. The iKP app will most likely be a stripped down version with basic effects like gating, delay, filter, bit crunch, chorus, and flange. Additional effects, as they are developed, will be in app upgrades that can be purchased as additional modules. The iKP HD will integrate seamlessly with Alesis’ iO Dock audio interface allowing performers to plug their rig directly into the iPad. iPhone users can use the iRig interface by IK Multimedia to do the same. I’m thinking the iKP will be announced at Winter NAMM 2012 but hoping it will be out before then!

In the meantime you can enjoy the SynthPad app which was based on a similar concept except it’s a bit more like the Kaossilator.

SynthPad is an instrument inspired by the interface of the Korg Kaossilator family of devices. Instead relying on piano keys to register notes, SynthPad uses a dedicated touch surface to control the sounds. Additionally the Y-Axis on the touch surface can be used to control different parameters, like filter cutoff and LFO values, making it an extremely expressive little toy. Its sound engine is a fully programmable monophonic virtual analog synthesizer. Among its parameters one can find: – 2 oscillators with different wave shapes – Fine tuning of the second oscillator – Volume Envelope – LFO modulation – A Low-Pass filter – Filter Envelope – Arpeggio Additionally, the scale and the key on the touch surface can also be configured, making this instrument ideal for live improvisation. SAVING PATCHES: It is possible to save patches after you have modified them by following these steps: – Modify a patch parameter – Notice that the bank letter for that patch turns red – Touch the red bank letter to save the modification – Your patch has now been saved. (Notice the red status on the bank letter is gone) ENABLING THE LOOPER The looper is just a special setting on the DELAY feature. To activate it, do the following: – Go to the delay settings page – Turn the DELAY ON – Set the TIME to 100% – Set the FEEDBACK to about 75% – Set the MIX to about 75%
