GyroSynth iPhone App

GyroSynth iPhone App

GyroSynth is a gesture driven music synthesizer for the iPhone 4, which takes full advantage of the gyroscope. Remember the D-Beam by Roland? Similar concept. You can play and modulate the sound by moving your hand through the air – just like the legendary Theremin instrument.

GyroSynth makes use of the gyroscope to measure true roll, pitch, and yaw and translates them to sound parameters like pitch, volume, modulation or filter cutoff. Thanks to phenomenal accuracy (2000 degrees), you can play melodies perfectly in tune.

FEATURES

– Synthesizers: vocal (formant synthesizer), sine wave , square (PWM modulation), saw, granular sample player with recording function and R2D2 – experimental FM modulation
– Effects: delay and boost
– Several control modes
– Included musical scales allow you to effortlessly play in several styles
– Built-in recorder and player with overdub function

GyroSynth is available for $0.99

  • iPad Loops is a music app blog dedicated to exposing the best iPad apps for iOS musicians, producers, and Djs. This is not a database of every app. It is, however, one of useful recommendations from someone with many years in music production. I try to update it on a daily basis (ok sometimes every two days) and I do my best to post useful apps only. My name is Jason Donnelly (Dj Puzzle). You might know me from my royalty free loop packs and sound design. Some of the apps that contain my loops are Retronyms AudioCopy, LP-5, iPRO.DJSAMPLER, Looptastic, and Audio Elements. My work is published by Magix Soundtrack Loops, Sample Logic, Pakotec, Loopmasters, Acoustica, Xmix, Sound Trends, and many more. Subscribe to our RSS feed below to get updated when new apps are posted.
