Groove Rider GR-16 is a professional step-sequenced groove box, inspired by professional hardware drum machines and rhythm boxes. It has a powerful Poison-202 based two oscillator synthesizer engine, plus a big variety of included PCM drum samples, insert/send/master effects, arpeggiator, automation recording, modulator, ADSR and filter block, and more! Built-in factory pattern library includes patterns in different music styles, which will inspire you (the list will be appended with the regular updates).
Minor update (1.4.2):
– added ability to change track order on the mixer page (on iPad only), in the Settings menu -> “Mixer Order” option;
– app store rating/review prompt system changed to suspend number of rating prompts to 3 times per year (according to Apple’s documentation);
– crash fixed: It was crashing when choosing another bank in Patterns Selector without selecting any pattern in it, and then turning the Value Jog knob;
– bug fixed: it was crashing the app if certain complex midi message (e.g. SysEx) was sent to GR-16’s midi input;
– bug fixed: automation curves were sometimes displayed incorrectly;
– other minimal improvements.
One remarkable feature of GR-16 is that all the controls are arranged on one screen, just like on a real groove box device! It lets you access almost all useful parameters from the one screen. Forget about numerous sub-windows and dialogs, which ruined your inspiration in another musical apps! Groove Rider is the fastest path from your imagination to reality!

• Performance effects – From Crunchy Delays to Wobbbling Filters, you can now add even more expressivity with the addition of two effects slots and a variety of presets. Assign a Lightpad to either slot or control on-screen
• AUv3 Updates – You can now play and record with your favourite NOISE Drum and Groove Kits in hosts such as Garageband with the addition of a new AUv3. Seaboard and Drum Grid visualisers have also been added to all plug-ins when used in full screen mode
• Updated Navigation – The navigation has been consolidated to a single tab bar and dual screen support has been added on iPad, allowing you to control instruments on the right and either clips, mixer or effects on the left
• Improved Performance – The app has been further optimised to improve performance on devices such as the iPhone 6 and iPad mini 4

Grid Music is a handy little step sequencer with probability. I did a demo / review of the app and realized that I really like this one. This update is very nice.
What’s new in Grid Music v2.2.0:
• New: Velocity Cells
Velocity cells (stars) change the loudness and MIDI velocity of all notes when active. If a velocity cell is set to the lowest value, it is a rest (labelled “—”). If a rest is active, note cells will not make any sound and no MIDI note messages will be sent on that step.
Use velocity cells to add dynamics to your patterns, or create variations on a sequence of notes by adding a sequence of rests with a different interval. The new “16 Step Velocity” template can be used as a starting point for this technique.
• New: Octave Range
You can now adjust the range of note cells from 1 to 5 octaves.
• New: Added templates featuring velocity cells.
• Changed: The default MIDI velocity is now 80, or mezzo-forte (labelled “mf” on velocity cells).
• Changed: The full volume of the built-in synthesizer is louder.
• Changed: The Shift setting has a wider range, from -3 to +3 octaves.
• Changed: Pattern Length is now called Measure Length.

Grid Music is a miniature workshop for creative MIDI sequencing. It can be used to compose classic 16-step patterns, but can also create loops, random branches, and polyrhythm. Its 5×5 grid allows for countless arrangements of melody and timbre while keeping the entire composition visible and easy to understand. Pitch and rhythm can be directly manipulated by touch, and the structure of a pattern can be altered in just a few taps.

Quantum Sound
Soup breaks up recordings into individual sound quanta with which you can interact as if they made up an audio fluid. They can be played linearly or randomly, forward, backward, or even sideways. They can, moreover, be stirred together, giving a whole new meaning to mixing sound.
Sounds Touching
Not only is this an extremely visual audio experience, it’s terrifically tactile as well. With support for multi-touch, Soup lets you get in there and mangle the fluid in a way that’s simply not possible with knobs and faders.
Audio Palette
Soup will let you literally paint with sound. You can record external sounds through the microphone or import WAV files, slathering sound over the virtual fluid. Then your fingers can become play heads, reading back the sounds from any position, or multiple positions at once.
