First glimpse of after touch pressure sensitivity on an iPhone. The following video shows Bismark BS-16i using aftertouch.
bs-16i is a 16 multi-timbral playback sampler. It supports SoundFont, and can be used for keyboard instrument, MIDI sound module, and MIDI player.
The sampler engine is ported from bs-1 / bs-16, which is developed as professional plug-in for Logic (Audio Units) and Cubase (VST instrument).
Using SoundFont libraries, you can play with your great number of Instruments.
It supports all standard MIDI messages, using pre-installed GeneralUser GS SoftSynth v1.44.sf2 (S. Christian Collins), your iPhone and iPad can be used as a GM (General MIDI) sound module.
As a keyboard instrument, you can play with scalable screen keyboard, pitch bend wheel, and many control change controllers.
Internal MIDI player supports SMF (Standard MIDI File) format, and bounced wave can be shared with other apps using AudioCopy.
SoundFont and SMF files can be sent to bs-16i by using the file sharing functions of iTunes, and OpenIn from other apps (DropBox, etc).
Moreover, this application supports Core MIDI Interface like as IK Multimedia iRig KEYS / iRig MIDI, YAMAHA iMX-1, LINE6 MIDI Mobilizer 2, Apple Lightning -USB Camera Adapter with USB Generic MIDI Interface, and Bluetooth accessory (Miselu C.24, QUICCO SOUND mi.1, etc. iOS8 or later only). With them you can communicate with other external MIDI hardware like as synthesizer, sequencer. Also bs-16i can be background and drived from other apps using Virtual MIDI.
Audiobus technology is supported. You can send bs-16i’s output stream to other apps via Audiobus app. Also with iOS7 and later Inter-App Audio is supported. You can send bs-16i’s output stream to other apps directly.

One of my absolute favorite synths for iOS just got even better. The “spawn” feature in this synth is wicked. It allows you to create new patches through a randomize process. The spawn feature is improved in this version and expanded.
What’s New in Version 3.2
This update includes…
• Expanded and improved SPAWN – use AI to magically create new and better presets at the touch of one button
• Free preset bank from New Wave Presets (NWP Lab30)

Analogkit is a modular synthesizer for iPad. It was designed to be enjoyed by both seasoned synth aficionados and curious cable-wranglers. Whether you’re into built-from-scratch effects pedals, synths, vocoders or even DIY games, AnalogKit allows you to build nearly anything you can dream of.
• Piece together controls, effects and signal generators into any gear you can imagine.
• 50+ included core components that can be combined to create endless possibilities of sounds.
• Share your creations with the community via the built-in Swap Meet, or browse, live-preview, and download gear built by other users.
• Compatible with many external audio interfaces so you can run AnalogKit as an effects board for mics, guitars, and other analog instruments.
• Full USB, Bluetooth, and WiFi MIDI support to let you use your favorite external controllers
• Advanced optimization algorithms enable you to run tens of thousands of basic modules in real-time on a modern iPad.
• State of the art anti-aliased oscillators provide the most authentic sound sources digital synthesis can offer.
• All the favorite toys from modular analog synths as well as digit logic components so you can build all the hybrid franken-synths your hardware modular friends could only dream of.
Under the hood, AnalogKit is anything but a toy. The process of putting things together with Analogkit is nothing less than an exploration of digital audio creation that’s both revealing and powerful.
Like a supercharged electronics project kit, Analogkit lets you combine and wire things up in any way you want, rather than having to settle for adjusting settings on existing gear. Depending on what components you choose, it can be both a trippy generative app that’s easy to lose hours with, or nimble and precise tool for building custom setups quickly.
Analogkit takes full advantage of its digital nature and lets you literally hook anything into anything, chain together as many of a thing as you like, and finally experiment like a kid again …a kid that happens to have the best audio toy to come to the iPad yet.
iPad Loops is an iOS music production blog dedicated to exposing the best iPad apps musicians, producers, and Djs. This is not a database of every app. It is, however, one of useful recommendations from someone with many years in music production. I try to update it on a daily basis (ok sometimes every two days) and I do my best to post useful apps only. My name is Jason Donnelly (Dj Puzzle).
Some of the apps that contain my sounds are Synth One, EG Segments, Hammerhead, Retronyms AudioCopy, Audio Evolution Mobile, and iMPC Pro. My work is published by Roland, Antares, Magix, Soundtrack Loops, Sample Logic, Acoustica, Native Instruments, The Grammt Museum and many more.
