fluXpad Sample Sequencer For iPad
Author View comments Tags Tags: , , , ,

fluxpad

fluXpad is the first sample sequencer that fully functions by simply drawing the sounds. In fluXpad it’s super simple to record your own sounds, to create different pattern and to jam with them. fluXpad is a sample based groovebox/workstation with a highly original sequencer, where you “draw“ your music, which leads to completely different results, when compared to a traditional sequencer. The y-axis of your canvas controls pitch, while the x-axis controls the sustain of your notes. Sounds familiar, but drawing on a canvas without any grid is a totally new experience. Of course it is possible to quantize your notes, or you can limit your note range to major or minor scales.

fluXpad has been developed by Mouse on Mars and Jan Trützschler

Moebius Lab Sampler Audio Lab For iPad

Moebius Lab

Moebius Lab is a multimorphic sound processor which contains a synth, a varispeed stereo sample player, 9 time domain effects, 6 spectral effects, 7 slots for external audio application, and nearly 200 LFOs that can modulate each parameter. You can move the effects along two chains, and get endless combinations of incredible sounds. ALL the App parameters can be modulated with dedicates LFO (one independent LFO for each parameter!).

To get you started, you have more than 200 ready-mades presets.
Each effect has an in-line help with an explanation of the parameters.

The screen is divided into 3 horizontal areas: the top one contains the sound source (Sample player/External Input/Internal Synth), the middle one contains the Time Domain Effects Chain with four slots for external apps, the bottom one contains the Spectral Effects Chain. The two effect chains are connected in a sort of Moebius Ring: you can route the signal from the Time Domain Chain to the Spectral Chain and vice versa. You can even add up to 7 IAA effects and/or instruments.

Moebius Lab Screen

*** LIST OF EFFECTS (NODES) ***
– EXCITER The Exciter Node distorts the signal below (Saturation) or above (Excitation) a given frequency.
– RINGER A ring modulator with distortion and feedback.
– KLAMPER Clamps the signal with some special features.
– SWARMER A “superchorus”, excellent to create super fat synth sounds (and more). It is composed by a chain of modulated delay lines.
– FILTER The Filter node has two configurations:
Dub: dual low-pass high-pass state variable filter with resonance and overlap factor.
Morph: a triple low-pass/band-pass/high-pass state variable filter with resonance and continuous morphing between the filter types.
– SPLITDEL A dual band delay with feedback.
– REDUKTOR This node can be used to decimate and do other “bad things” to your signal.
– SHIFTER A dual band frequency shifter.
– REVERSO Plays the signal in reverse at regular rate.
– BRICKWALL A spectral brickwall filter.
– GRIP This node samples and holds spectral components of the incoming signal, based on their amplitude.
– BLUR A (noisy) “spectral reverb”. The duration of the spectral components is prolonged (blurred).
– DEGRADER A spectral decimator.
– FLUTTER Flutter is a sort of animated brickwall. Two spectral sinusoidal LFOs define the frequency boundaries. The spectral components which are inside or outside (depending on the Spectral Balance) these boundaries are suppressed.
– PLATEVERB As the name suggests this is a classic Plate Reverb.
– DYNAMICS PROCESSOR You can change the output sound using a compressor and expander effect. This is used to either reduce or expand the dynamic range of an audio signal.

THE SYNTH
The internal synth contains two band limited oscillators, a complex oscillator, a ladder filter, an envelope generator and a sub-bass oscillator.

Other Features:

– Audiobus and Inter-App Audio support (sender and FX)
– Built-In Stereo Sampler with varispeed
– Control Manager LFO for Parameters
– Midibus, Virtual Midi and Network: 14 bit NRPN controllers
– File Manager, sharing common audio files via iTunes, Dropbox and AudioCopy
– Snapshots Presets Morphing Pad

SoundScaper Version 1_5 Morphing Scenes
Author View comments Tags Tags: , , , ,

SoundScaper

SoundScaper is an experimental sound mini lab for creating unusual soundscapes, atmospheric textures, drones, glitches and noises based on circuit bending ideas.

With this application you can easily experiment with creating new and unusual sounds from ordinary samples. For sound designers and those interested in creating ambient or experimental electronic music, with filtering and mixing of up to three oscillators, you can create excellent soundscapes, textures and drones for your music or for movie soundtrack or entertainment apps and games. With complete MIDI control this application is very comfortable to use for real-time sound creation and at live performance.

The oscillators, based on simulating schematics of actual 8 bit lofi sound playback chips, have circuit bending like controls that are ideal for making glitches, noises, crackles and granular sounds. Combined with the filtering and spatial mixing options, you can expand these sounds to deep and atmospheric textures. Finally you can add motion and continuous changes to your sounds via low frequency oscillators which can control the filter and mixer parameters. The morphing feature give you the possibility of smooth changing all parameters from current scene to another in auto or manual modes. Morphing is not only changes the scene but also generates new sounding and effects in process of transition between them. This is realtime instrument that adds new ways of experiments with soundscapes creation.

What’s New in Version 1.5

● Significant additions to morphing function.
● Controls of filters combined with delay added to morphing panel.
● Small improvement of scaper sound engine.
● Minor bug fixes.

Triqtraq supports Ableton Link

Triqtraq will soon support Ableton Link. Link is a technology that keeps devices in time over a wireless network, so you can forget the hassle of setting up and focus on playing music. Link will soon be available to the wider music-making community as a built-in feature of a growing number of iOS apps.

Triqtraq is a sort of all in one Groovebox type app with an intuitive easy to use interface. It’s perfect for creating beats and sampling.

SUPER QUICK INTERFACE
• Compose and tweak beats fluently in an all-in-one window interface, without ever hitting stop.
• It’s all about touch: build up, vary, mangle and break your patterns with a swipe of your finger.
• Compose up to 16 patterns, and arrange them in the 16 step queue to build entire songs.

TWEAK YOUR (OWN!) SOUNDS
• Have endless fun with the real-time sound manipulation by recording various effect and parameter sliders.
• Add that personal touch and record your own sounds while jamming, with the super fast microphone recording feature.
• Get creative with a large library of over 400 included samples in 4 categories: Drums, Bass, Percussion and Keys.
• Take your custom sample library on the road by importing or pasting sounds from other apps.

GO DEEP WITH THE ADVANCED POSSIBILITIES
• Surprise yourself and make endless variations of one loop: give each of the four channels a different length.
• Every recorded parameter automation can have its own length too, resulting in ever evolving rhythms or melodies.
• Create your own original grooves by changing the swing amount and BPM per step.

SHARE IT & PLAY TOGETHER
• Get your recorded tunes out there and export your tracks to Soundcloud or Mail.

I try to update it on a daily basis (ok sometimes every two days) and I do my best to post useful apps only. My name is Jason Donnelly (Dj Puzzle). You might know me from my royalty free loop packs and sound design. Some of the apps that contain my sounds are Synth One, EG Segments, Hammerhead, Retronyms AudioCopy, Audio Evolution Mobile, LP-5, iPRO.DJSAMPLER, Looptastic. My work is published by Roland, Antares, Magix, Soundtrack Loops, Sample Logic, Acoustica, Loopmasters and many more. Subscribe to our RSS feed below to get updated when new apps are posted.
