Woodulator

I reviewed Woodman’s Woodulator back in October and well I fell in love with this app. This new update just made it even better.

Ver 1.1 Nov 21, 2018
– added Reverse mode to the Pitch shifters (more Craziness ! )
– added Sawtooth Up and Sawtooth Down to the LFO modes
– LFO modes can now be seen and toggled from main window

– fixed bug in gain calculation of Level rotaries

The Woodulator is a delay and pitch shifter inspired by analog bucket brigade delays. It also includes 2 versatile modulators.
Pitch shifting is obtained by increasing or decreasing the clock in the delay line and not by FFT calculations.

– Has 2 pitch shifters which can go up or down according to a harmonic scale or in chorus mode

– Modulator source can be internal LFO or external side chain

– Modulator destination can be pitch frequency, pitch amplitude, delay amplitude, panning. or feedback amount.
– Modulation of pitch frequency can be up, down or both.

– Delay line color can be set with LP/HP/BP filter and Saturation level.

– Includes HP and LP filters on the input signal

– Includes LP filter on pitch out signals.

– Pitch shifters have Reverse mode.
– BPM can be set, tapped or synced by the DAW host.

– LFO Square has slew-rate control. (control at 100% generates triangle waveform)

– LFO’s have convenient beat/bar timing popup.

– Delay and pitch signals can be panned L-R on a stereo bus/track.

– Delay and pitch shifter timing can be synced to the bar or re-synced manually (playing live)

– Presets can be stored in iCloud Drive (makes them available on all your devices).

– Presets can be switched with Midi Program Changes.

– Major controls can be set with Midi CC messages.

Stereo Modulator For Mono Tracks
Author View comments Tags Tags: , , , , , ,

Ran my Les Paul through this new mono to stereo audio unit effect called Stereo Modulator. PUT YOUR HEADPHONES ON! Honestly I wish I didn’t feel rushed with this video I wanted to make it longer but figured folks might just want to hear the modulation part of it on a guitar. My wife was giving the baby a bath and she started crying so I just said screw it and made the demo short. It has a very clean widening effect with the modulation LFO down.

Stereo Modulator is an AU3 effect that converts mono sound into stereo, with an adjustable width and optional stereo modulation.

It works by using a bank of randomized stereo de-correlators that apply micro-delays introduce random differences between the spectrums of the left and right audio channels. In its output we hear a natural sense of space that is not present in mono recordings. It’s similar to the sound space one gets from using a stereo reverb plugin except that it is tight and clear, without any feeling of echo.

It can operate either as a static effect or it can be gently modulated by a low-frequency oscillator. The modulation is akin to the sound of a Leslie speaker, except that it doesn’t do any pitch shifting, so the output remains focused and tuning is not compromised.

This effect is especially useful for mixing electric guitars together with vocals. Using Stereo Modulator on the guitars, we can push them out to the sides, creating a space in the centre for the vocal to cut through, without needing to reduce the volume of the guitars.

NOTE: Stereo Modulator is an AU3 plugin only, not a standalone app. To use it, you will need an audio unit host app such as Garageband or Audiobus.

FS Refraktor Modulation Effects
Author View comments Tags Tags: , , , , , , ,

FS Refraktor is an innovative twist on modulation effects, inspiring the exploration of new sonic territory. Sitting somewhere between a delay and a flanger, FS Refraktor offers endless possibilities, from rhythmic flanging to chaotic pitch modulation and unpredictable stuttering.

Whoa this is such a cool multi effects app! I’m loving it so much. Thanks FutureSonic. – Jason

The highly flexible sixteen step sequencer and LFO rhythmically warp sounds beyond recognition – standard drums beats become bleeping basslines and synths gain a mind of their own, generating melodies from thin air.

The sequencer’s Slew control varies the speed at which the delay time changes – low settings produce sudden jarring variations while higher settings transition smoothly between delay times.

Bypass the sequencer, and FS Refraktor will add metallic overtones and strange resonances to your sounds, similar to a short, reflective reverb.
Carve Revolutionary Sounds
The dedicated filter section makes it simple to sculpt your sound. Select from a range of versatile filter types: Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass, Notch and FS Refraktor’s unique Carve mode.

Features:
– Delay section with delay time, feedback, modulation and mix controls
– A highly customizable sequencer for rhythmic modulation of the delay time
– Slew control to vary the speed of delay time changes.
– A versatile filter section with Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass, Notch and Carve filter options
– Stereo spread control for creating wide out of phase sounds.
– Runs as both a standalone app and an AUv3 extension
– Ability to save presets when run as an AUv3 extension

Pumphouse Sidechain Compressor AU3
Author View comments Tags Tags: , , , , , , , ,

What do you do when you need the sidechain pumping effect in an iOS DAW that doesn’t have sidechaining? Pumphouse to the rescue! Pumphouse allows you to draw an envelope via step sequencer for your pumping effect so really it’s more or a less an amplitude modulator envelope.

Pumphouse is a simple and excellent compressor (taken straight from our RoughRider 2 codebase) coupled with a step sequencer driving an envelope generator. In this manner, you can sidechain-compress your pads or bassline against a 1-measure pattern, no other inputs required.

With an easy-to-understand interface, Pumphouse is a quick method for getting That Sound.

Pumphouse requires transport information to work. Please note that some iOS AUv3 hosts do not have a transport. (At this time, Auria Pro that we’re aware of.) There is an Inter-App Audio version supplied, but it also requires transport info.

Tested and approve the AUv3 with AudioBus 3, Cubasis, GarageBand, AUM, ModStep, Zmors Modular, and Beatmaker 3.
