Audiobus Remote

With Audiobus Remote, transport your Audiobus-compatible music apps’ controls onto a second iPad or iPhone: it’s a second screen for your Audiobus session, powered by Bluetooth LE and Apple’s iBeacon technology.

— Audiobus Remote requires iPad 3, iPad Mini, iPhone 4s, iPod Touch 5th Generation and newer devices —

Start Audiobus Remote for the first time, then simply hold it near your other iPad or iPhone running Audiobus: the two devices will pair immediately, and you’ll see the apps running on your Audiobus device appear on Audiobus Remote’s control surface. You will see all the Audiobus Connection Panel controls you’re used to, including app switching, transport and record controls.

Apps can also define Remote Triggers, providing access to app-specific functions within Audiobus Remote. For example:

– Record or toggle individual loops in Loopy HD.
– Trigger drum samples in DM-1.
– Move between presets in Bias FX and JamUp.
– Change presets and adjust effect controls in Holderness Media’s effects apps including Johnny and Caramel.
– Trigger individual sections in Sector, and switch modes.
– Play a mini version of SoundPrism Electro in Audiobus Remote.

All this on a second screen, while you can stay focused in one app on your main device.

Audiobus Remote. More space for play.

Audiobus Remote requires the Audiobus app and two Bluetooth Low Energy-compatible iOS devices: iPhone 4S, iPad 3 or iPad Mini, iPod Touch 5th gen, and newer.

Apollo Midi Over Bluetooth

MIDI connections between iOS devices have been a continual problem; hardware MIDI adapters are expensive and bulky, while MIDI over WiFi introduces too much latency.

With Apollo, MIDI can be sent over Bluetooth wireless connections, eliminating hardware adapters, and providing much lower latency than is possible with WiFi. Apollo uses Bluetooth LE: this is supported by the iPad3 and newer, the iPad Mini, the iPhone 4s and newer, and recent Mac desktop and laptop computers.

* Intro pricing — get it now! *

Want to use your iPad as a midi controller for an app on your iPhone? You can with Apollo.

** Important ** Apollo is not compatible with the iPad1 and 2, and the iPhone4 and earlier. Please make sure that your device supports Bluetooth LE.

Install the app on two iOS devices, select an “A” endpoint for one, and a “B” endpoint for the other. Press the search button on both, and a Bluetooth connection will be established. After connecting, MIDI messages sent to Apollo running on one device will be forwarded to the other — and these messages can then be redirected to synthesizer or sequencer apps.

In addition to MIDI connections between iOS devices, Apollo can also be used to connect to Mac desktop and laptop computers. Recent iMacs and MacBooks support Bluetooth LE; for older Macs, a USB Bluetooth adapter may be required. The OSX version of Apollo will be available in the Mac app store shortly. We have also made the OSX version available on the support web page, so that you can get the app prior to the release in the Mac App Store.

Visit the support web link for a video demo and more details about the app.

Apollo is available for $2.99

  • iPad Loops is an iOS music production blog dedicated to exposing the best iPad apps musicians, producers, and Djs. This is not a database of every app. It is, however, one of useful recommendations from someone with many years in music production. I try to update it on a daily basis (ok sometimes every two days) and I do my best to post useful apps only. My name is Jason Donnelly (Dj Puzzle). You might know me from my royalty free loop packs and sound design. Some of the apps that contain my sounds are Synth One, EG Segments, Hammerhead, Retronyms AudioCopy, Audio Evolution Mobile, LP-5, iPRO.DJSAMPLER, Looptastic. My work is published by Roland, Antares, Magix, Soundtrack Loops, Sample Logic, Acoustica, Loopmasters and many more. Subscribe to our RSS feed below to get updated when new apps are posted.
