Wider Free Stereo Widening App

Wider by Infected Mushroom App Store Description:
Wider — derived from the massively popular stereo feature of its sibling Manipulator — expands the stereo image of a mono signal to an awe-inspiring amount of width.

However, Wider is a unique stereo plugin in the sense that it is completely “mono-compatible,” meaning that any signal that has been extended will always remain in phase with itself, even if summed to mono.

Many stereo effects currently in use have the nasty habit of knocking signals out of phase which can quickly make a track sound muddy and unbalanced, or make sounds seem flat and lacking dynamics if one isn’t mindful of the effect. Thanks to Wider’s one-of-a-kind all-pass and comb filtering algorithm, a natural-sounding stereo image is created from a mono channel without compromising the phase between the sides. Because Wider cancels itself out when summed to mono, the original signal is left intact.

Wider can be used to increase the stereo image of any mono signal up to 200% of full stereo for an extra wide, exaggerated effect.

Klevgrand Haaze 2 Stereo Widening App

Haaze is a 16 band stereo widening tool that utilizes three different methods of controlling the stereo width and spatial positioning of an audio stream.

• Haas – adds a small delay to the left or right audio channel which will make the listener believe the sounds arrives from the side that’s reaching the ear first.

• Pan – Alters the gain level on one of the audio channels. All 16 bands can be panned separately, so this method gets quite equal to the common “split eq” function in various equalizers.

• MS Stereo. Controls the output stereo width on each band, from normal stereo signal to mono.

There’s also a view for controlling the output gain of all bands separately.

Changes from the initial version:

• New and more transparent crossover filters
• Haas: Better control for each band
• Split EQ: Now called “PAN” and provides much more control over.
• MS Stereo: New feature in v2.0.0
• Gain: New feature in v2.0.0
• Visualization: New feature in v2.0.0
• Brand new and more intuitive UI for a better work flow.
• Several factory presets.

Full documentation available inside the app or at https://klevgrand.se/downloads/haaze-docs/

Haaze 2 is an AUv3 plugin that only works in an AUv3 compliant host like Garageband, AUM, Cubasis, Beatmaker 3, Auria etc.

haaze

Haaze provides two different ways of making a mono (or a not-wide-enough-stereo) signal to a wider stereo signal.

By splitting the input signal into 16 different frequency regions, spanning from 20 Hz to 20kHz, Haaze can add different amount of stereo-widening to different frequency regions. This makes it possible to transform a mono track into a natural sounding stereo track (by for example keeping lower frequencies in mono while spreading the higher ones).

Haaze is using two different stereo widening techniques, Haas (short delays between left and right channel) and ”Split EQ” (different gain on different channels on different frequency regions).

Haaze Stereo Widening App For ioS

Noteworthy features:

• AUv3, works with AUv3 compatible hosts like Cubasis, Auria, AUM etc.

• 16 separate frequency regions with independent parameters on each band

• Two different stereo widening algorithms (Split EQ and Haas)

• Convenient and easy-to-use user interface

Usage:

To apply the Haas effect, click and drag the spring component horizontally. The top-most part applies the effect on higher frequencies, and the bottom-most part applies the effect on lower frequencies.

To apply the ”Split EQ” effect, drag the LOW (bass frequencies), MID (mid frequencies), HIGH (high frequencies) sliders to apply the effect.

The MIX knob mixes the input audio with the processed audio.
NOTE: When setting the MIX knob somewhere in the middle, there might be noticeable phase issues (if so, we recommend setting the value to max and adjusting the other parameters instead).

Important: Haaze in stand-alone mode does not support IAA, Audiobus. You can try it out using the microphone, but beware of audio feedback (use headphones!). We recommend using Haaze with AUv3 compatible hosts.

iPhone 6 or later is recommended.
iPad Air 1 or later is recommended.
