Hainbach Fluss Granular Synth by Bram Bos

Hainbach Fluss Granular Synth by Bram Bos

Fluss is a sonic playground designed by Bram Bos and Berlin-based musician Hainbach to let you explore granular synthesis in a hands-on way. The playful touch UI invites anything from live performance, experimentation to learning and mastering the granular concept.

Multiple plugins: Import, Record or Live Process

You can import your own WAVs (standalone & AUv3 Instrument plugin), Record audio (Record effect plugin) or live-process sound (Process effect plugin) to create anything from drones and granular echoes to moving microtonal audio textures.

Designed for touch: Kinetic Sliders

All sliders and XY pads are linked to a physics model which lets you flick and throw them around. Minimise the friction for endless bouncing motion, as an innovative substitute for traditional LFOs and modulation. There was never a better reason for using a touchscreen for music.

Shimmer Feedback effect

Like a shimmer reverb, except it feeds the processed audio back into the grain engine. This lets you create an endless loop of pitch-shifting spaciousness, turning even the simplest of sounds into massive woolly mammoths.

– 3 Voice grain engine, each with an independent playhead
– Filter inspired by the Oberheim Xpander, including its resonant Phase filter
– Kinetic sliders and pads for playful interaction with the sound
– Universal design (iPhone and iPad; iPad Air 2 or higher recommended)
– Custom scales, unquantised mode and even Scala-import for microtonal experiments
– Use WAVs, record audio or load the app as a live-processing audio effect
– Real world tested as an instrument in numerous live performances by Hainbach

Stereo image analysis plug-in

ToneBoosters GonioMeter is a one-stop stereo image analysis plug-in. Easily identify stereo image imbalance or frequency ranges with negative correlation. Ensure that the content you create is of high quality and mono down-mix compatible, an essential requirement for mobile entertainment!

The ToneBoosters GonioMeter stand-alone app captures the microphone input and processes the signals in real time. Since most iOS devices only have mono microphone capabilities, we strongly suggest to use the integrated AUv3 plug-in (app extension) version instead. To use it as a plug-in, use an AUv3-compatible host app such as Steinberg Cubasis, Apple Garageband, Audio Evolution Mobile Studio, Auria, AUM, or others. ToneBoosters GonioMeter will appear in the list of Audio Unit extensions for effect plug-ins.

Free Stereo image analysis plug-in

Key features:

– Real-time goniometer to inspect stereo image waveforms
– Real-time correlation meter and correlation spectrum meter
– Real-time stereo balance an stereo balance spectrum meter
– Color themes for the user interface
– Max screen support in Garageband
– Legacy Inter-App Audio (IAA) support
– Optimised for iPad and compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch

What you should know:

– Inter-App Audio (IAA) can only use one instance of this app simultaneously. We recommend to use an AUv3 host to use multiple instances.
– Licenses acquired for this platform are not compatible with other platforms.
– Audio Unit (AUv3) extensions require an iPad mini 2, iPad 4 or later models.

Ableton Note iPad and iPhone app

Start new musical ideas with a curated selection of sounds and effects. Play beats and melodic parts, sample your world, and continue your tracks in Ableton Live.

Note is a place to form ideas, experiment with sounds and find direction. Get your ideas out or play until inspiration hits using a selection of Ableton Live’s drum kits, synths and melodic instruments. Or create your own sound palette by recording the sounds around you into Note’s sampler instruments using your phone’s microphone.

If you want to take your ideas further, use Ableton Cloud to send your projects to Live without leaving the app. Open your project from Live’s browser, then keep working – you can edit all your MIDI notes, and all your samples and sounds from Note are exactly the same.

Begin with a beat:

• Choose from 56 Drum Sampler kits
• Tap out a beat using the 16-pad grid
• Quantize your beat to fix any loose timing
• Nudge notes to correct mistakes
• Add more layers of rhythm
• Create beat repetitions with Note Repeat
• Change parameters to shape your sound
• Experiment with effects

Start with a melody:

• Choose from 261 synth sounds and 36 Melodic Sampler instruments
• Play your melody or chord progression with either the 25-pad grid or the piano roll
• Set a key and scale to get instantly harmonic results, or leave your options open
• Overdub more layers of harmony
• Change parameters to shape your sound
• Add effects to experiment with sound design

Sample your environment:

• Create your own kits by recording percussive sounds into Note’s Drum Sampler
• Record tonal sounds to create your own Melodic Sampler instruments
• Manipulate your samples by cutting, filtering or repitching them
• Shape or transform your sounds with effects

Capture improvisations:

• Play something, then tap the Capture button to keep it
• Play at the tempo that feels comfortable and Note will detect it
• Note will recognize the length of the phrase
• A loop is created automatically
• Quantize it, add to it, or change the sound

Create variations:

• Note features a grid-based Session View layout
• Double your loops to create variation within clips
• Duplicate your clips and create different versions of your ideas
• Create eight tracks with up to eight clips on eight scenes

FAC Medusa Compressor For iOS

Compressors are probably the most used audio processors and you surely know what it’s all about and how it can help to control the dynamic range of your audio signal. So let’s get straight to what makes FAC Medusa a new versatile and characterful compressor!

FAC Medusa combines different dynamic processors into a single and easy to use unit, the input signal flows along the following stages:

1) “Pre-amp with tone control and saturation circuit” The input signal is split into three bands of frequencies (Low, Mid and High) according two adjustable crossover points. Setting the level and the saturation amount of each frequency band will definitely make the effect more natural or characterful.

2) “Compression” In addition to the usual controls you may expect, FAC Medusa also provides two types of compression. Downward compression, which is obviously the most common, decreases the level of audio signal above the threshold. And also Upward compression which is less known, despite powerful, and increases the level of audio signal below the threshold. The compression can operate either on the SUM of the frequency bands (L+M+H) or on each frequency band coming from stage 1.

3) “Parallel compression and Brickwall limiter” The master Brickwall limiter is optional and will ensure that the output of stage 2, possibly blended with the original audio signal, remain under control. The limiter comes with threshold and release time controls.

As you have realized FAC Medusa has many faces: gentle, natural, or aggressive and colorful. Choose the one you want and be prepared for an exciting sound design experience. Whether you are a budding music producer or passionate amateur musician in any genre, you will definitely find a happy use for it!
