Magic Stave iPhone & iPod Touch App

Magic Stave iPhone App

Magic Stave listens to you singing or playing an instrument and displays the notes played on a music stave and shows the note position on a piano keyboard or guitar fretboard.

Automatically detects the key signature you’re singing/playing.

Has a built-in tuner so you can see exactly how sharp or flat you are or tune your guitar to.

NOTE The free version does not allow you to use Magic Stave as a composition/ideas notepad. The midi recorder version will let you record detected notes as a MIDI file then export to GarageBand (or other sequencer) to hear it and see the music notation. Seems this company has used the same copy and detail information for both their free and paid version but the features are much different.

A brilliant tool for seasoned music professionals and beginners alike. Ideal for supporting you as you learn to read music or vocalists away from an instrument and want to know whether you’re singing in tune.

Learning to read music and not sure whether the note you’re playing is right? Magic Stave shows you the note you’re actually playing and you can compare that with the sheet music you’re reading to check you’ve hit the right note.

Are you a singer reading music? Magic Stave will display the notes you’re singing so you can ensure you’re hitting the right note! Magic Stave can tell you the key you’re singing in too!

Ever wondered how high or low you can sing? Magic Stave will show you instantly. Works great with all transposing instruments too.

Magic Stave is now a MIDI recording note pad too! Just play/sing your idea while recording and import the midi file into any Sequencer/DAW like Logic or Sibelius.

Magic Stave:
. Midi records detected notes.
. Auto detect key signature.
. Share Midi recordings via iTunes/Wifi/Website/Email
. Note History
. Displays notes on Grand, Treble or Bass Clefs.
. Displays notes in any major or minor keys.
. Displays notes on a piano keyboard.
. Display notes on a guitar fretboard.
. Displays note names and optional octave information,

. Cent Tuning Meter.
. Transposes detected notes up to 12 semitones up or down
. Will detect notes accurately and fast in the range C2 to C6
. Allows the configuration of the reference A frequency (just in case your piano is not quite in tune!).

Works with iPod Touches if you plug in a microphone too. Note that this app detects monophonic sounds (not chords).

. Minor UI enhancements
. Improved stability
. Reduced memory consumption

Magic Stave is available for $2.99

Tr-707 For iOS

mobileRhythm mR-7070 – Vintage Drum Machine for iPhone and iPod Touch.

Drum machine app with an unmistakable 1980’s look and sound.

History behind the Roland TR-707: It resembles the popular TR-909, and better yet, its hi-hat, cymbals, and clap sound almost identical to the TR-909. It has some other cool features not available on the 909. It has Matrix display which clearly maps out your pattern for you in an easy to read display panel.

For programming, it features a shuffle and flam effect and its programming abilities are very impressive. But it does have its limitations, the only adjustment you can make to each drum tone is volume.

App Features:

-MIDI in, out and MIDI clock out
-Precise tempo control with digital readout.
-4×16 banks for pattern storage.
-Individual faders for each drum sound.
-Multiple beat divisions for crazy time signatures with adjustable last step.
-Rock solid timing.
-Grid-view pattern display.
…And much more.

The hardware drum machines and beatboxes from the 1980’s have defined musical genres from House, Acid, Hip-Hop, right up to and including the latest Dub-step, Grime and other electronic music beats.

The mR-7070 works just like the original beatboxes, and anyone who is a fan of music will instantly recognise the classic sounds it produces.

Its easy to program even complicated beats and with plenty of storage space to store your creations.

MIDI settings are in the iOS settings app, and will work with any “CORE MIDI” interface.

Fun Game For Learning Guitar On iPad

Wild Chords makes learning to play the guitar easy, fun and motivating. A real guitar is required to play the game. We are so glad we discovered this really fun app! Great for kids.

PLAYED WITH A REAL GUITAR
Wild Chords is a casual music learning game, suitable for beginners of all ages. It teaches you the most popular chords, and also includes melody and scale exercises for lead guitar playing. The game is played with a real guitar (acoustic or electric), and requires no additional equipment to be played. The iPad recognizes each chord and note you play, and tells you whether you’re playing right or wrong.

NO PREVIOUS GUITAR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
To play the first exercises you don’t need any previous guitar experience. Master one level, and you unlock the next one. The following levels are just slightly harder than the previous ones, so you can pass them after a few tries as your skills improve. Some of the final exercises (Demo package) are hard enough to even get guitar teachers to sweat!

HYPNOTIZE THE ANIMALS AND SAVE OVELIN CITY
Ovelin city has been taken over by escaped zoo animals. Fortunately, the animals can be hypnotized with guitar music, and then lured out of the city (“Modern Pied piper of Hamelin”). Now it’s your task to help Giuseppe save Ovelin city. It’s fun, challenging, and the best thing is, you really learn to play the guitar!

Our vision is to make the world a more musical place, and help people to learn to play a music instrument. Please let us know what you think about WildChords, and if you have any feedback.
– We want to hear the good, the bad and the ugly
– What doesn’t work, whats not fun, where did you have difficulties
– What ideas do you have, what wishes (for exercises, features, visuals,…)
– Please also tell us about your success moments with Wildchords, we love to hear those!
– If you dislike the game, please tell us why, so we can improve it. Please don’t give 1-star ratings if you already are a good guitar player and find the levels too easy, or if you don’t have a guitar at all to play the game.

What’s New in Version 1.5

– Screen rotation support added
– Five new free exercises

What’s New in Version 1.7
– All songs included in the main product (no in-app purchases anymore)
– Startup fix (if app wouldn’t start -> switch iPad to airplane mode before starting the game)
– Log-in removed (just start and play)
– Audio performance improvement

Distort Delay Audio Effects For iPhone

Distort Delay Audio Effects For iPhone

Distort+Delay is a real-time audio processing application that adds high-quality distortion and delay effects to any incoming audio signal. Both acoustic and electric instruments produce excellent results. Performances can be recorded for later playback or sharing with friends. Good for Instruments and Djs!

Effect descriptions:

This app produces a wide range of effects, ranging from minor enhancement to wild modulations. The tube-style distortion effect allows for a variety of tones, from subtle warmth to heavy crunch.

An “8-bit” lo-fi crusher is also included. When active, the 8-bit lo-fi replaces the tube distortion and allows the control of both gain and phase. The result of this bit-crushing is similar to everyone’s favorite 80s-style video game console.

The delay effect works much the same as any guitar pedal: short delay-time produces a reverb-like sound; medium settings produce a slap-back echo; and larger delays create “spacey” sound textures. The included “hold” button allows for creative audio experimentation. Delay adjustments are smooth and can be heard as the familiar pitching effect usually associated with analog tape echoes.

Compression is included to help normalize microphone input. It can be toggled off for direct-input cable connections.

This application supports iPhone microphones, Apple-headphones microphones, dock-connector microphones, or guitar-to-iPhone cables.

Effects details:
– Distortion effects: classic tube and 8-bit lo-fi with tone and gain controls.
– Delay effects: 743ms maximum delay with variable feedback, and hold effect.
– Compressor: automatically normalizes microphone volumes.

Additional features:
– Capture your performances for future listening.
– E-mail your creations to your friends.
– Lossless AAC encoding is supported on iPhone 3GS+, iPod Touch 3rd Gen+, and iPad devices. Older devices will send WAV files.

Ondes Martenot For iPad

Do you know Ondes Martenot? “Petites Ondes” is the world’s first iPad application that reproduces the classical electronic musical instrument Ondes Martenot. You can play it casually during a break for coffee. Thanks to @skipnotestudio for this cool iPad instrument replica. We love the sound and features on this app. Maybe he will send us one for free! Anyway I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Features:
1. Touche (for dynamics control)
2. Playing with keyboard (Clavier)
3. Playing with ring (Bague)
4. Keyboard vibrating
5. Manual vibrato (using accelerometer)
4. timbres select (8, N, C, O, g, G)
5. trill buttons (minor 2nd, major 3rd, and 5th with just intonation)
6. Reverb effect
7. Pitch correction function
8. Help function

For expressive playing, put iPad on your knee.

You might find it difficult to play at first because you may not have experience playing the real Ondes Martenot. Don’t be discouraged, a little practice will make you an Ondist!

Ondes Martenot can play a single tone. Right hand: to control the pitch. Left hand: to control dynamics. To produce a sound, you have to touch the “touche”(for control dynamics). But, you can control dynamics with it’s touch pressure sensor. This method is used to simulate the real “touche”. Let’s try it with help function is ON.

Petites Ondes is available for $2.99
