MV08 Is A TR-808 Inspired Drum App

Introducing MV08, a revolutionary new drum machine for iPhone and iPad inspired by one of the greatest drum machines of all time. A TR-808 re-imagined with a modern touchscreen workflow.

SOUND ARCHITECTURE

The MV08 features over 200 16bit 44.1k wav files that have been faithfully sampled from one of the most important drum machines in history. (featuring 60 samples for the kick drum alone!). On top of the original voice controls we have added Pan, Pitch and two editable send effects per voice, along with a master 3 band EQ and Distortion.

A POWERFUL SEQUENCER

Keeping the classic XOX style sequencer from the original, we have added in some powerful updates bringing it into the 21st century: All of the voice controls can now be sequenced per step, giving you limitless freedom and possibilities to create evolving and innovative rhythms (not to mention killer bass lines!). Each pattern can be 1-64 steps long and played at either a 16 or 32 step resolution – giving you endless options to create complex time signatures and long evolving loops.

FUN WITH PATTERNS

There are 8 banks of 16 patterns giving you a total of 128 user patterns to play with, ensuring you don’t run out of space when inspiration strikes. We’ve created a separate demo bank to get you started featuring some classic rhythms from time gone by. You can even record the master output and export to your favourite DAW.

alphaSyntauri Inspired Phosphor 2 iPad Synthesizer

Phosphor is an unique instrument modeled on the alphaSyntauri, a vintage digital additive synth from the early 80s. The original alphaSyntauri required an Apple //e to operate, but we’ve gone ahead and eliminated the middle-man, and now you can have this classic digital synth in your iOS device, no 5.25″ floppy drive necessary!

Featuring two additive oscillators (with the original 16 partial complement of the alphaSyntauri, or optionally with 32 or 64 partials), each with its own amp envelope, Phosphor’s topology closely follows the alphaSyntauri, while adding many modern features such as full velocity control, a much more extensive modulation routing system, tempo synced LFOs, a pair of delays, and two monophonic modes. The noise and oscillators are able to work in the original alphaSyntauri “low-resolution” modes, or can be run in modern high-resolutions. Phosphor can accurately model the original sounds of the alphaSyntauri, yet still provide new paths for sonic exploration.

• A large complement of presets included that show off the extensive sound generating capabilities of Phosphor, including some famous alphaSyntauri presets directly ported from the original.

• XML preset system, with copy-to-clipboard, for sharing presets in forums and with your friends.

• AudioUnits V3 version for use in all AUv3 hosts, like AudioBus 3, AUM, BeatMaker 3, Cubasis 2, GarageBand, etc.

• Standalone version (with full single-panel UI) with Inter-App Audio and BlueTooth MIDI capability.

Jubal Flute For iPhone and iPad

Embertone Jubal Flute now for iOS. We discovered this one-of-a-kind instrument collecting dust in our favorite local music shop. It’s made out of hemlock, light as a feather, and sounds like elven magic.

Programmed with true legato (a rarity for iOS instruments) the Jubal flute is a simple and inspiring instrument. It has an earthy sound, evoking images of folk dances, mountainscapes, and encounters with Bilbo Baggins.

The Jubal flute is named after its maker… Jubal. This mysterious man stopped by the music shop to put his instrument on consignment, and never showed up again. Maybe he moved away? Passed away? Or, what we like to believe, journeyed to Valinor with Frodo and the rest of his Elven kind.
