Cinematic Fugue Machine Jam
Author View comments Tags Tags: , , , , ,

PerplexOn took the iPad outside on a rainy day for jamming with a minimalist piano sequence, combined with the sound of rain and a touch of gritty synth. Controlled with a Korg nanoKONTROL.

Apps in use:

Fugue Machine | multi-playhead sequencer – Alexandernaut

iGrand Piano – IK Multimedia

iSEM Synthesizer – Arturia

Eos 2 – Audio Damage, Inc.

AUM – Audio Mixer – Kymatica (Jonatan Liljedahl)

BeatMaker 3 – INTUA

While iGrand Piano was used on location, the piano track was replaced with the beautiful and more nuanced Una Corda Piano by Native Instruments afterwards. This was done by recording the actual midi output of Fugue Machine live with Beatmaker 2 in the background and then exporting this midi track to the DAW.

Korg nanoKontrol Elastic Drums Jam

Servando Barreiro is showcasing how he is using Elastic Drums together with a Korg NanoKontrol 2 Midi Controller. You can do this with the current version of Elastic Drums already, but the upcoming update will improve Midi Learning to do such setups also a lot. In his setup Servando basically connected the midi controller to some instrument parameters and to some master effects of the Jam page.

ED Update 2.1 should be out this week or next week latest.

Korg nanoKONTROL 2

Convenient, compact control surface, with easy setup for immediate use

In a body proportioned to fit perfectly in front of your laptop computer, the nanoKONTROL2 provides eight channels of the controllers you need to control your music software. The nanoKONTROL2 also features a dedicated transport control section. The buttons have been carefully selected to be useful with your software, ensuring simple and intuitive control. Many software titles – including major DAW programs – are supported, dramatically reducing the need to make complicated connection settings.

Complete control for your DAW or software synthesizer

A knob, fader, and three switches are provided for each of the eight channels, respectively assigned to pan, volume, and solo/mute/record. This arrangement is a real convenience when recording automation for multiple channels. There’s also a marker button, making it easy to assign marks at important points in your song for more efficient recording and song production.
