Apogee Quartet for iPad

You get four combination input connectors (XLR and 1/4-inch) for connecting microphones, guitars and keyboards, or your favorite external mic preamps, compressors, and EQs. Quartet also includes eight channels of digital input via two optical connections (ADAT/SMUX) for connecting an additional analog-to-digital converter such as Apogee’s Ensemble.

Six balanced 1/4-inch TRS outputs offer an impressive range of possibilities. Listen and compare stereo mixes on up to three sets of speakers. Mix your audio or Final Cut video project in 5.1 surround. Quartet also features a studio-quality 1/4-inch headphone output, freeing you to adjust your headphone level separately from the main outputs.

There’s a single USB MIDI connection for your CoreMIDI-compatible keyboard, synth, or DJ controller. And for maximum convenience, this MIDI connection allows you to simultaneously connect Quartet and a keyboard or DJ controller to the 30-pin dock connector port on your iPad.

Multi Channel Audio Routig iOS 6

Multiple outputs on iPad. Multi-channel and multi-route audio is now possible with iOS 6 and up. This means that apps like Djay by Algoriddim can do independent stereo output to both the headphone jack, as well as via an HDMI or USB audio out adapter for the dock or lightning connector. That means Djs can pre-cue their music in djay on their headphone, before sending them out live over the other connection to their audience.

Musicians can now play their backing tracks on one set of stereo channels and have a click track routed to the headphone out puts for monitoring. You will have to sync the backing tracks with the click track but that is actually quite simple if you use the auto sync feature in Djay.

I try to update it on a daily basis (ok sometimes every two days) and I do my best to post useful apps only. My name is Jason Donnelly (Dj Puzzle). You might know me from my royalty free loop packs and sound design. Some of the apps that contain my sounds are Synth One, EG Segments, Hammerhead, Retronyms AudioCopy, Audio Evolution Mobile, LP-5, iPRO.DJSAMPLER, Looptastic.
