iVoxel 2.8.0 for iOS with many new features/bugfixes

iVoxel Vocoder App Icon

iVoxel is a combination of a voice optimized synthesizer and a vocoder. The vocoder part is based on the Matrix vocoder from VirSyn used by many famous artists – one of them the well known german group Kraftwerk. The channel filters used by iVoxel are based on the Sennheiser Vocoder VSM201 resulting in a rich and fat analogue sound characteristic.

The pitch follower and automatic tuning let you sing correct to a selectable scale.

You can use iVoxel in many different ways:

As a realtime vocoder talking into the microphone while playing tunes on the keyboard. The sound character of your voice can be changed in many different aspects like pitch, gender or breath noise. Use it to sing over your favorite iTunes song.

Record the analyzed spectrum of phrases and words from your own voice. Then use this voxel to play with your own voice on the keyboard or with the build in sequencer. Nearly 300 hundred prerecorded voxels are already included.

The output of your creations can be recorded to an audio file which you
can use with other Apps and programs for further processing.

What’s new:
Version 2.8
Import via open in and Audioshare
Real time voxel recorder
Other sample rates supported
Improved scrubbing

Synth-Q Synthesizer For iPad

Synth-Q has been designed from the ground up with the touchscreen interface in mind. Synth-Q is a subtractive synthesizer with a customizable interface. A unique module queuing system, resizable multi-octave keyboard, and intuitive cable-based modulation controls offer a truly dynamic music-making experience for iOS.

What’s New in Version 1.045
— Vocoder module with IAA effect port capability. You can now blend your voice or other IAA/Audiobus audio into your current synth sound.
— Matrix keyboard layout mode
— Audiobus/IAA effects port

Each part of the synth is separated into units called modules. Each module snaps into place along a scrollable surface above the keyboard.

Control the number of modules shown on the screen at any time. Control which modules appear for each sound.

Tap a button on the module menu to launch a module and add it to the queue.

Drag a module up and release to remove it from the queue.

Drag a module down to move it within the queue.

Add variability to your sound by connecting different modules using virtual cables.

Alter the sound with synth-Q’s movable keys.

Synth-Q provides an intuitive and engaging way to get started creating your own sounds, and is ideal for production, performance and music education environments.

Full feature list:

MODULES:
—three oscillators — sine, triangle, saw, square, pulse and resonant noise waves
—three adsrs — amp, filter and modulation envelopes
—filter with lowpass, hipass, bandpass, band-reject and peak filter modes
—glide
—frequency modulation oscillator
—ring modulation oscillator
—eight modulation bays with virtual cables enable interactions between modules
—three tempo-syncable LFOs with sine, triangle, saw, reverse saw, square, random curve and random step waves
—two XY matrix pads
—XY keys module turns the keyboard’s movable keys into modulation sources
—two FX slots with chorus, flanger, phaser, reverb, tremolo, distortion, delay and bitcrush
—analog simulation with soft clipping and random pitch wavering
—midi module with pitch bender, modwheel and velocity
—master volume control

INTERFACE:
—multi-octave resizable keyboard with 4-voice polyphonic, monophonic and legato modes
—optional “sticky keys” mode locks each key to your finger after being pressed
—when used as a modulation source, sound can be altered by moving the keys in different directions
—unique rearrangeable module queueing area defines which controls are present per preset
—fully featured preset menu system with options to share and import via e-mail or iTunes File Sharing
—import presets directly from iOS mail by tapping and holding the attachment and pressing “Open in synth-Q”
—functional graphic design and layout eliminates screen switching by keeping the control modules and keyboard in constant view

OTHER FEATURES:
—Audiobus support with Inter-App Audio
—A=432Hz, A=440Hz and A=444Hz tuning modes
—44100k Hz, 32000 Hz and 22050 Hz sampling rate modes
—MIDI input and output per channel

Voice Bot Vocoder For iPad

–:: NEW improved sound algorithm and a new look. ::–

Voice bot is a real time channel vocoder. A vocoder takes the spectral information of one sound also known as a modulator and uses it to shape another sound called a carrier. The resulting sound is a bit like a singing robot. In this case the microphone is used to modulate a 3 oscillator polyphonic sound engine. Also there are settings for 1-64 filter bands and effects like sample and bit crush, stereo delay and flanger. Voice bot does core midi note input and audiobus iaa ports.

+++ Microphone input.
+++ Filter bands settings: 1-64.
+++ Modulator recording tape.
+++ 3 oscillator carrier.
+++ Oscillator shapes: saw, square, pulse and noise.
+++ Sample rate crush.
+++ Bit crush.
+++ 4 tap stereo delay.
+++ 1 tap flanger type effect.
+++ Core midi (usb/wifi).
+++ Audiobus iaa ports (output, effect and input).

Waldorf Nave iPad Synthesizer

Waldorf Nave iPad Synthesizer

Nave is Waldorf’s first synthesizer App development – created by chief engineer and
director Stefan Stenzel, NLog mastermind Rolf Wöhrmann and Design Guru Axel Hartmann.

The Nave sound engine includes two novel Wavetable oscillators, leaving every previous attempt in wavetable synthesis far behind. The spectrum of a sound can be transposed independently of its pitch. The waves are being rendered periodically to noisy. Especially sounds with an accent on formants can be reproduced easily, which made us integrate a speech synthesizer for the easy creation of wavetables.

The clearly structured UI invites both beginners and advanced users to experiment, and the large display of
the iPad makes Wavetable creation and editing a blast. Besides Speech Synthesis, Wavetables can also be made by analysing audio files. Further stretching, rotating and shifting in spectral domain allows Wavetables to be further refined or distorted.

All factory Wavetables from Microwave, Wave and Blofeld are included, complemented by new ones that make extensive useof the enhanced possibilities.

In addition to the Wavetable Oscillators, Nave offers an oscillator module featuring the novel Überwave that can fatten your sound by up to eight detuned oscillators.

The filter offers the familiar outstanding Waldorf sound, featuring lowpass, bandpass and highpass with either 12dB or 24dB slope.

The Drive section offers different characteristics, and it can be positioned in the signal path: before or after the filter, or as a summing overdrive before or after the equalizer – for those who prefer harsh screaming sounds over delicate Wavetable sweeps.

An extended modulation matrix and diverse real time control functionality is waiting for animating Nave sounds in any desired direction.

Besides the classic virtual chromatic keyboard, Nave can be played with the “Blades” that allow for dynamic triggering of polyphonic modulation by sliding the fingers in x or y direction.

The 4-track recorder can be used to build your own Nave songs or to simply sketch your music, inspired by the sounds of Nave.

You might know me from my royalty free loop packs and sound design. Some of the apps that contain my sounds are Synth One, EG Segments, Hammerhead, Retronyms AudioCopy, Audio Evolution Mobile, LP-5, iPRO.DJSAMPLER, Looptastic. My work is published by Roland, Antares, Magix, Soundtrack Loops, Sample Logic, Acoustica, Loopmasters and many more. Subscribe to our RSS feed below to get updated when new apps are posted.
